Hi, my friends!
First off, can I get a hallelujah? It’s Friday, we made it to the end of the week, and that’s simply all that matters. Well, for me at least. It’s been a rigorous week to sum it up in a few words. While I won’t bore you with the logistics of my rocky school week, i’ll just say that quite a bit of weeping happened. Yes, I cry over school related things, no judgment!
I apologize for my lack of posting, but hopefully you have some compassion from what I said about my week. I so want to post more than I do, and if circumstances allowed it I totally would. I have some amazing, drool- worthy recipes and food porn for you’ all, but if I could only find the time to do so I would. I don’t want blogging to feel like an obligation and if I don’t do it uniform than I’m punished, more that I cherish the times I do get to doing it. It can either feel pressured and priority or something I look forward to doing with ease and relaxation. I choose to fall into the later category, but sometimes that’s not the case. Bare with me till I get through this rather tedious school semester, then I’ll be posting more regularly and as much as I want. Can’t wait for that; just another month!
All you fellow in school bloggers and busy workers, can you relate to my situation and if so, in what ways? I’d love to hear your musings on finding balance between mandatory obligations and interests.
Onto other more exciting things…..
Recently I received a very special package in the mail

A new nut butter, of course! And this isn’t you average plain jain peanut butter…. it’s cinnamon- raisin infused peanut butter. If you’ve been reading my blog long enough, you’d know that right next to peanut butter comes cinnamon as my two favorite foods (and spices?).
Wild Squirrel nut butter co. contacted me recently to sample and review their sneaky cinnamon peanut butter and without question I was in. Who do you think I am to turn down free peanut butter?
The creators of Wild Squirrel nut butter, Erika and Keeley are college students in Oregon and like me, are totally health foodies. How cool and creative of them to start a nut butter co. while in college– girls, can I have in?
First way I enjoyed this fabulous tasting and oh so addictive nut butter?
Atop a bowl of oatmeal, of course.
Carrot and apple raisin oatmeal with grated carrot, diced apple, raisins, lots of cinnamon, and almond milk topped with sneaky cinnamon PB and walnuts.
This bowl of oatmeal was delicious– when is oatmeal NOT good– but what put the cherry on top was the cinnamon- raisin nut butter that melted so wonderfully into the piping hot bowl. I’ve used it quite a few other times for various snacks, and such, but my favorite way it just atop of hot bowl of oats. Stay tuned for more ways this cinnamon- raisin peanut butter can ‘sneak’ it’s ways into my meals.
I hope everyone has a restful and happy weekend , which is definitely what I’m hoping for! I’ll be back with a twist on your average PB&J sandwich that will make you work or school day *that* much better.
Coming to a blog post near you.….

So funny- I JUST bought ridiculously delicious flavored PB too, although I passed on classic cinnamon raison for dark chocolate dreams from PB and Co. Stuff is dangerous! Can’t wait to smear it on everything!
I forgot to compare it to PB and Co. cinnamon rasin flavor. This one totally beats theirs…. ssssh, don’t tell :
I commend you for recognizing your priorities and putting your time and energy into what is most important to you. I work a full time job and have a family -and though I very much enjoy blogging, they come first. Even if I don’t get to blog for weeks, I know I am focusing on what matters most in my life. And don’t worry, I can’t say I didn’t cry over school related things too.
Good to hear from you, Emily!
Necessary priorities totally come first and guilt should not come with what you can’t do. Blogging and other non- necessary things should come when you have time and enjoy doing them, not the former. ALthough I’ve certainly learned that throughout my time of blogging, it’s still something I totally struggle with.
Hope you’re well! x
I too work full time(the bills need to be paid!), then add painting deadlines on top of that, along with family importance and workout wants, blogging is a non necessary for me, as much as I love it. I wish I could post more, but the priorities in life have to come first of course. And surely loyal blog readers and blogging community understands…. many of us have lives (don’t make a living) off our blog. Perhaps we’d like to achieve it one day, but it’s up to us what comes first.
