Green Yumminess.

by Namaste Gurl on March 8, 2011

Heather’s cookie- dough hummus, served with crudites and the fixings…..

Oh man- this was SOOOOO to die for, no doubt.  It’s already gone, and only lasted about 2 days.  If you like nut butter, chickpeas, and chocolate chips, I definitely recommend giving this a shot.

I know, I thought the same, nut butter, nutritional yeast and chickpeas? You can’t really even taste the nooch or chickpeas, just pure bliss!  Who says you can’t have chocolate chips for lunch? :)

You know what’s always heaven on your taste buds and out of this world?

Super- green smmmmmoothies, or in my case, puddings.

  • avocado
  • banana
  • spirulina
  • spinach
  • maca powder
  • shredded coconut flakes
  • sun warrior
  • Cinnamon, stevia

It may be ugly and deep, sea green, but me no care!

Does it look prettier with coconut, cinnamon and carob chips atop? :)

Continuing with the green yumminess is this warming and delicious smoked broccoli- cheddar soup….

Emily’s Broccoli-cheddar soup, with a twist on my part.

I added 1 teaspoon smoked paprika, black beans and avocado to give the soup a flare, but kept everything else the same.

I may or may not have added more nutritional yeast, because, well, I love nutritional yeast!

Served with organic blue corn chips, it made a wonderful evening meal to end the long day.

Topped with smoked paprika, ripe avocado, and daiya cheddar cheese.

Yum.  Can’t wait for leftovers for dinner tonight! :)

Before I turn bright green from all my fibrous green intake, I’ll stop there. Lots of school work to do, as well as miscellaneous errands.  Stay tuned for tomorrow’s post, a coconut- hot chocolate recipe! :)

Happy Tuesday!

I just had a green smoothie bowl for breakfast this morning! Only I used my stash of collards instead of spinach.

That soup looks delish! I am definitely trying that recipe!

That broccoli soup sounds so good right now. CD cannot stand the smell of broccoli. SADNESS. :( Thankfully, he doesn’t mind Brussels sprouts, but they don’t really make for good soup.

Isn’t that hummus so good. I’m so glad you liked it, and I love your copious amounts of cinnamon – you’re a girl after my own heart.

And yes, your green pudding toppings make it pretty. :)

Find some fast, but be carful, as it’s quite addictive. I currently spread it on EVERYTHING- no lies. Even nut butter and cereal. :)
Good news it that it’s super healthy, chock full of nutrients and protein.

You can use a blender or immersion blender to make it! It’s super easy, and better yet, yummy, sweet and healthy!
